Located near the dynamic core of Yerevan, Vardanants 27 consists of two compact apartments designed as long-stay apart-hotel units. Positioned between the Gnuni Market and Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium, the project responds to an energetic urban context and a client brief focused on flexible, livable environments for extended stays.
The apartments are conceived for individuals or small families seeking to live within the rhythm of the city — with quick access to transit, commerce, and cultural infrastructure. The design narrative is built around the idea of “apartments for young spirits”: spaces that feel fresh, expressive, and emotionally light.
Visually, the interior design draws strong inspiration from the work of David Hockney. His use of color, rhythm, and spatial flattening is reinterpreted through a palette of clear chromatic contrasts, textural layering, and playful compositions. These visual references appear in accent walls, custom furniture detailing, and curated artwork integrated into the interiors.
Each unit balances compact spatial planning with a sense of openness, using light, color, and built-in elements to define zones without closing them off. Finishes are practical yet vibrant, supporting long-term comfort without sacrificing visual energy.
Vardanants 27_2 demonstrates how small-scale interior design can address the spatial and psychological needs of long-term urban living. Through a precise balance of functional layout, material economy, and color-driven identity, the project offers a model for adaptable residential units within dense metropolitan environments. The design speaks to a new typology of compact living — one that is flexible, expressive, and contextually responsive.
